- I wholeheartedly support automatic conversion between Nepal Lipi and Devanagari scripts. Nepal Lipi is the original script of Nepal Bhasa. Devanagari script has been adopted to write Nepal Bhasa simply because we didn't have a Unicode Nepal Lipi script until recently to use in computers, websites, and mobile devices. Thanks to the creation of the Noto Sans Newa font, it is now being used in all the above devices.
I am very grateful to Wikipedia's new effort to provide auto-conversion between Nepal Lipi and Devanagari scripts. It will be like the Chinese language providing Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese characters.
May I also remind the concerned members of the Wikipedia Nepal Bhasa project that Nepal Lipi is the original script of Nepal, while Ranjana and Bhujimol are styles of Nepal Lipi. The term "Prachalit" is an adjective (like prachalit kanun = mostly used law) for this original script, not a noun. Nepal Lipi got this adjective title of "Prachalit" because the script is the most popular and used in the Nepal Mandala. Therefore, it will be perfect to use the terms "Nepal Lipi / Devanagari" for the conversion buttons, rather than "Prachalit / Devanagari." --𑐳𑐸𑐰𑐣𑑂 (talk) NS 1146.09.27 (Dillaga-Ekadasi) / 6:27 am, August 10, 2026 (UTC)
